What the numbers mean

Weeks are counted from the first day of your last period, not from conception. The due date is 280 days after your last period, adjusted for a cycle longer or shorter than 28 days, or 266 days after conception.
When to see a doctor
- Book your first check-up as soon as you know you are pregnant.
- Any bleeding or leaking of fluid, severe stomach pain, a severe headache, blurred vision or sudden swelling of the face or hands: see a doctor the same day.
- Your baby moves less than usual.
