What does TIA mean?

TIA stands for transient ischaemic attack. A mini-stroke: stroke symptoms that go away within minutes to hours. It is a warning that a full stroke may follow, so it needs urgent medical care even if you feel fine.

In an emergency, call 033 4022 6000. Our emergency department is open day and night.
